Project Overview:

The Health Care Foundation of the Oranges (HCFO), owner of the facility adjacent to 80 S. Munn Avenue in East Orange, NJ, is seeking qualified and experienced contractors to conduct a comprehensive evaluation and provide professional recommendations for the full rehabilitation of the building.

 

This property, formerly operated by East Orange General Hospital, has been identified as functionally obsolete and affected by significant environmental concerns, including mold, mildew, and general disrepair. The goal of this RFP is to engage experts who can assess the current condition, propose renovation strategies, and offer design input to restore the facility for future community or organizational use.

  

While the building is currently unsuitable for full operation, the large conference room within the facility is actively used as a polling location during elections. Therefore, any evaluations and proposed renovations must consider and preserve this limited, ongoing use.
