WHO WE ARE

Health Care Foundation Of The Oranges is a charitable nonprofit trust which operates under NJSA26:2H-7.11; the Community Health Care Assets Protection Act (CHAPA) with assets and proceeds from the sale of a nonprofit community hospital (East Orange General Hospital which closed its doors in 2016, in East Orange New Jersey)

In 2016, the Health Care Foundation Of The Oranges board was formed from the board of trustees at East Orange General Hospital. The Foundation operates on the investment income from these proceeds and donations from benefactors who believe in our mission and values. We are located at 80 South Munn Avenue in East Orange, New Jersey. We are also the proud owners and sponsors of a 24 unit supportive, housing facility for individuals who would otherwise be homeless. Most of these wonderful people have a mental health diagnosis and or other emotional or developmental conditions. Our home office is also based at the same location which is 80 South Munn Avenue in East Orange, New Jersey.

Our mission is irrevocably dedicated to serving the healthcare needs of the communities that were once served by East Orange General Hospital: East Orange, Orange, Irvington, and the bordering Westward neighborhoods of Newark.

We are also the proud owners and sponsors of a 24 unit supportive, housing facility called "Hope Gardens” for individuals who would otherwise be homeless. Most of these wonderful people have a mental health diagnosis and or other emotional or developmental conditions. Our home office is also based at the same location which is 80 South Munn Avenue in East Orange, New Jersey.
